Nominations festival awards 2021

Which choreographer do you nominate?

Which choreographer do you nominate for one of our festival awards?

As a dance lover, we would like to hear which choreographer you think should have a chance to win one of the two festival prizes. Which emerging choreographer knows how to surprise and touch you with his / her work? Who do you think deserves a push to create new work and present it to the general public during the Dutch Dance Days 2022? From today you can submit your nomination for the Prize of the Dutch Dance Days Maastricht 2021 and the Prize of the Dutch Dance Days Young Public 2021.

Nominate a maker before Monday 17 May by filling in this form below.

The prizes will be awarded on Friday 1 October during the Gala of the Dutch Dance. You, as a dance lover, determine together with dance professionals from the Dutch dance field who will be nominated for these incentive prizes. The final winners are chosen by a jury of cultural professionals.

Prize of the Dutch Dance Days Maastricht
The Prize of the Dutch Dance Days Maastricht is a national incentive prize for a talented and promising maker. With the prize of € 10,000, made available by the Municipality of Maastricht, the winning maker can initiate and develop a new work. Shailesh Bahoran, Dunja Jocic, Connor Schumacher and Roshanak Morrowatian, among others, preceded the winner of the Prize of the Dutch Dance Days Maastricht 2021.
Prize of the Dutch Dance Days Young Public
The Prize of the Dutch Dance Days Young Public aims to contribute to the innovation of dance for a young audience in the Netherlands. With the amount of € 10,000, the winning creator can realize his or her ideas for a new work for an audience between 4 and 18 years old. Since 2017, Gaia Gonnelli, 155, Cecilia Moisio and Anne-Beth Schuurmans have received the prize.
Important criteria are that the choreographers have already realized a number of eye-catching projects, but have not yet received a structural subsidy. Both choreographers who independently create productions and choreographers who create work for companies can be nominated. One condition is that they have been working in the Netherlands for some time. Choreographers who have been nominated in previous years can also compete for the prize again.

The nominees will be announced at the end of June.
