The festival opens with a unique dance experience in the Danstent on the Vrijthof. The different dancers of Amenti, with a wide range of dance styles and identities, will appear on stage during this improvisational performance. Nobody knows what will happen; a surprise and unique moment for everyone there.
The Elemental Exchange is a unique dance experience wherein first meetings between people are a vital concept. An authentic and pure moment in which two souls lie a connection between each other. The dancers will be invited to find each other synergetically on the sounds of both a live musician and DJ (and dancer) Gil the Grid.
A concept originated from the HipHop battle scene, where dancers meet each other more competitively. During the Elemental Exchange, we emphasize exchanging rather than the competition so that we can learn from and be inspired by each other. Always with the key elements of HipHop; Peace, Love, Unity, Having Fun, and Self-Knowledge.

This interactive performance also allows the audience to provide the dancers with input while they're on the floor. The elements or 'layers' that Amenti uses in their movement discipline are also a recurring concept during this performance and a way to connect and communicate.
